Volta region is the strongest hold of the NDC since democracy begun. The founder of the NDC Jerry John Rawlings hails from Keta in the Volta region which made the voltarians like the NDC. It is known in record that the NDC has the Volta region as its strongest hold acruing much votes from there.

This year’s election can not be underated amongst others because Ghana currently has 16 regions. Previously it was 10 regions but the president introduced 6 new regions with this thing Volta region was divided introducing the Oti region.

There are many reasons why Nana Addo is likely to gain massive votes in thw Volta region and here are a few.

First and foremost, the now Oti people craved for a division and it is Nana Addo who has heard their plea and fulfilled it.

With this it is very likely they will pledge their allegiance to Nana rather than Mahama and the NDC.

Again, the Oti region used to have very bad roads which Nana Addo has constructed for them. Their roads to school, farm and hospitals are now developed. The Oti people with these kindness shown them by the Nana Addo administration will turn up to give him more votes instead of Mahama.

In addition, the disloyalty the leaders of NDC have demonstrated towards their founder has displeased the region where be comes from, with this the may either vote for the ‘enemy’ or not vote at all.

The statistics the electoral commission has released clearly shows there is a lower turn out for registration as compared to previous years.
